California Alkali Company, Cartago ~1929 on the shore of Owens Lake (Patsiata). Today some of the homes and the school are still there. The plant is gone leaving the large white pile of calcium oxide (benign). Much of the acreage is now the CDFW Cartago Springs Wildlife Area.
